Draxlmaier Group has opened a design office at the site in Sousse, Tunisia, with the first six employees already having started work, with plans to increase staff numbers this year and in 2019.

“The Development Centre enables the Draxlmaier Group to create more jobs for highly-qualified employees in Tunisia”, said Draxlmaier CTO, Martin Gall.

One third of Draxlmaier employees in Tunisia are qualified specialists and executives who work in functions such as Development, Administration or Finance. Of that number, 1,000 are engineers and technicians. The company is currently looking for further skilled employees for the new design office.

Draxlmaier is currently training 30 young people for various technical jobs according to German dual education standards. The supplier also maintains partnerships with engineering schools in Tunisia: ENIM, ENIT and ENISO, as well as cooperating with local associations and trade unions.

Besides dual training, the supplier focuses on training programmes for its employees, such as technical training courses, courses on soft skills and coaching.

The Draxlmaier Group employs more than 6,000 people at Tunisian sites in El Jem, Siliana, Sousse and Zaouiet Sousse.
