Chinese state-owned automaker Dongfeng Motor Group announced it is targeting a 31% rise in global sales to 3.25 million vehicles in 2026, up from 2.47 million units in 2025, driven by jump in sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) – comprising mainly battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).

The Wuhan-based automaker said it aims to sell 1.7 million NEVs in 2026, a 62% increase compared with the 1.05 million units sold in 2025. Sales under the company’s in-house brands surpassed 1.5 million units last year, accounting for over 60% of sales, with the remainder produced through partnerships with overseas vehicle manufacturers including Stellantis, Nissan and Honda. Dongfeng also said it aims to increase its exports 600,000 units in 2026.
