The automaker said it would this year build a new luxury SUV at the new plant which has annual production capacity of 110,000 vehicles and a current workforce of 1,400 people. The factory has stamping, welding, painting and final assembly lines plus a test track.
China is Infiniti's second largest market worldwide, with sales of close to 38,000 units in the first 10 months of 2017.
It is also Infiniti's most important growth market, the company's president Lu Yi told local reporters at this month's Guangzhou motor show.
The joint venture already produces Infiniti vehicles, including the Q50L and QX50, at a plant in Xiangyang in Hubei province.
