As Chrysler’s head of international operations, Mike Manley is looking to boost sales by at least 25% this year from just 37,000 in 2010.

“That was 20% down on 2009,” he said. “But last year was very much a transition for the company. We had the changeover to Fiat management control and spent a lot of time integrating Chrysler and Jeep operations into Fiat’s around Europe.

“We have also integrated with the Fiat distribution network while the scrappage schemes around Europe did not apply to us and our volumes reflected that.

“I expect the European market to be flat this year but we are looking to increase our sales in excess of 25%.

“Helping this will be introductions of new versions of vehicles such as the Chrysler 300, Jeep Patriot and Compass along with the latest Grand Cherokee. We will also have the Chrysler-badged Delta and Ypsilon while the Dodge Journey MPV will be badged as a Fiat.
