Denso says Nippon Wiper Blade and Asahi Manufacturing, both of which are subsidiaries of Denso Corporation, will merge on 1 October 2019 and become Denso Wiper Systems.

Technologies including cameras and sensors have been developed for automated driving, requiring automotive component suppliers to offer wiper system products compatible with the changes.

Against this backdrop, the wiper system business structure of the Denso Group has been reviewed. Denso Wiper Systems will build an integrated structure from design and production, to supply of wiper systems. The company will also step up efforts for the Denso Group to create new added value in advanced fields.

Denso recently announced updates to its new business strategy and progress toward achieving its 2030 goal: to create and inspire new value for the future of advanced mobility.

In October 2017, Denso declared its ‘second founding’ as it expanded into software-based solutions to complement its traditional hardware expertise, marking one of the most significant strategic shifts in the company’s 70-year history.
