Denso and Toshiba have started talks to enhance collaboration in the fields of Internet of Things (IoT)-based manufacturing, advanced driver assistance, automated driving and other areas.

The collaboration aims to combine Denso’s technology and manufacturing and Toshiba’s image recognition, IoT, artificial intelligence (AI) and software development technologies.

In the fields of advanced driver assistance and automated driving, Denso and Toshiba have jointly developed AI technologies used in image recognition systems.

Moreover, the two companies have worked together in a wide range of areas including the development of automotive lithium-ion battery packs and software for ECUs used in automotive components.

Last week (2 November) Denso made Fujitsu Ten one of its group companies to enhance cooperation between them in the development of in-vehicle ECUs, millimetre-wave radar sensors, advanced driver assistance/automated driving technologies and basic electronic technologies.

Denso Corporation now has a majority stake in Fujitsu Ten. As a result, Fujitsu Ten will change its name to Denso Ten.
