Delphi Automotive reported third quarter 2016 net profit of $1.07 per share or $1.50 excluding special items.

Q3 revenue was US$4.1bn, up 10%, while operating income was $293m. Excluding special items, the operating earnings were up 17% at $1.50 per share.

Adjusted operating income was up 13% to $531m and operating income margin was 11.2%.

Year to date revenue was up 8% to 12.3bn and net income from continuing operations $871m or $3.18 per share.

Excluding special items, earnings from continuing operations was up 16% to $4.45 per share, adjusted operating income up 10% to $1,617m, and operating Income margin 10.5%.

"We delivered strong performance in the third quarter with double-digit sales and earnings growth," said Kevin Clark, president and chief executive officer. "We are confident in our outlook as we continue to aggressively optimise our cost structure to expand margins and fund smart investments in technologies that will enhance our future profitable growth."
