Rizon, Daimler Truck’s newest brand, has announced the Canadian launch of its battery electric Class 4-5 trucks which, though it isn’t mentioned in the press release, are based on the Fuso e-Canter with detail cab styling changes.
Rizon is making its debut at Truck World in Toronto from 18 to 20 April with preorders to start next June.
The Rizon brand was launched south of the border in the US in April 2023 at the ACT Expo in Anaheim, California, and operating “on American streets “for a diverse range of customers”, according to Daimler Truck.
The Canadian government has committed to net zero by 2050 and has established an incentive program to encourage fleets to electrify.
The Rizon trucks will qualify for the Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-duty-Zero-Emission Vehicles” (iMHZEV) programme effective since 2022.
“Canada is very advanced regarding green energy and infrastructure and is a natural next step for Rizon’s second market,” said Andreas Deuschle, global head of the truck unit.
