Daihatsu is to suspend production at some Japanese plants due to a shortage of overseas sourced components and low demand.

Its Ikeda factory will cut output on 4-5, 11-12, 18-19 and 25-26 June.

The plant assembles the Thor, Roomy, Tank, Justy, Boon, Passo and Copen.

The Kyoto plant will halt on 5, 12, 19 and 26 June.

It builds the Probox, Succeed, Move and Canbus.
