Dacia’s first EV – the Spring – will cost EUR 17,800 in Hungary, according to local media.

Hungary is the the first market in Europe to price the new model announced last week.

After Hungary’s EUR6,800 subsidy for electric vehicles, the Spring’s net price is just EUR 11,000 (GBP10,000; US$13,040).

At a list of EUR 17,800 (GBP16,100; $21,100), the Spring costs about EUR2,000 less than the Skoda Citigo IV, and over EUR3,000 less than Dacia parent Renault’s own Twingo ZE, romania-insider.com.

Sales start next spring, with the first deliveries expected next autumn.

The Spring is designed as an urban car with a range of 225km (140 miles), according to Renault.

The model will initially be produced in China.
