World Markets Research Centre reports that Skoda Auto has announced that it has finally reached an agreement with unions over the disputed monthly wage hike.
After several rounds of collective agreement and in intervention of a mediator, the company accepted to raise monthly wages by Kc1,308 ($US45) across the board from April and will pay some Kc3,150 to each worker for the January-March period that is not covered by the collective agreement.
The salary hike corresponds to a 6.2% increase in Skoda’s average gross monthly wage of Kc21,160.
