Hyundai Motor has officially started the construction of its Czech plant in Nosovice, northern Moravia.

The carmaker plans to launch trial operations in September 2008 and serial production in March 2009. Its annual capacity will stand at 200,000 cars in 2009 and 300,000 units in 2011.
The company will employ 3,500 at its first European plant, whose construction works started a month ago.
Hyundai Motor has also attracted a number of South Korean suppliers to the Czech Republic.
