Trelleborg Group has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Xingtai, Hebei, China, to manufacture mainly agricultural tyres.
The site will produce both radial and bias technology tyres for farming, forestry and agro-industrial applications.

“We believe China has highly favourable long-term growth opportunities and our strong global platform will be further reinforced by this facility,” said Peter Nilsson, president and CEO of Trelleborg. “This new production unit continues our commitment to the agricultural sector in China. [It] will also strengthen Trelleborg’s competitiveness on markets other than the Chinese, by broadening the range.”
For his part, Trelleborg Wheel Systems, Maurizio Vischi, said: “There is enormous potential within the agricultural sector in China. More than half of farming operations in the country are conducted manually and industry mechanisation is taking place rapidly.
“Through this establishment, Trelleborg becomes the first global manufacturer of agricultural tyres to have its own production in China. The facility provides proximity to Chinese customers, but also support to European and US customers in the local Chinese market.”
