Skoda sold 59,284 cars in China last year, a gain of 117% on the previous year.
The company also expects ts vehicle sales to rise 50% to 90,000 units this year, according to Fu Qiang, deputy director of Skoda Marketing & Sales Business.
China Knowledge reported that the company plans to launch its new model, the Skoda Superb, in the Chinese market this year.
Skoda also plans to expand its dealer network from 80 to 200 this year.
In order to achieve the sales target, the company will aim to double its Chinese output capacity in 2009.
According to China Knowledge, the car manufacturer launched the Skoda Fabia sub-compact car in the Chinese market late last month.
