Shanghai General Motors Corp, the Chinese JV involving GM and SAIC has unveiled a facelifted version of the Buick Excelle. The model is based on the Daewoo/Chevrolet Lacetti/Nubira and also known in some markets as the Chevrolet Optra and is sold in the US as Suzuki Forenza.

Shanghai-GM hopes that the makeover will help Shanghai GM meet its 600,000-unit sales target for the year 2008.
The new Buick Excelle is expected to hit the market in May, said Shanghai GM’s General Manager Ding Lei. However, no details about the price were given.
Shanghai-GM said the new Buick Excelle had been redesigned in accordance with its global family design and the interior had also been upgraded to meet Chinese customers’ needs.
