New vehicle sales in mainland China increased by 9.9% year on year in July to 1,516,290 units, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
Passenger car sales rose by 10.5% to 1,237,569 units, while commercial vehicle sales increased by 7.5% to 278,694 units.

In the first seven months of the year, the overall vehicle market expanded also by 9.9% to 12,298,593 units, with passenger vehicle sales rising by 10.5% to 9,902,753 units and commercial vehicles rising by 6.7% to 2,395,840 units.
