Two Chinese automakers booked healthy sales rises for the year to date. Chongqing Changan Automobile said on Thursday its total sales for the first seven months of this year rose 40% year on year to 1.07m units.

But sales fell 7.4% to 99,854 units in July, Reuters reported.
Changan, one of China’s top state auto groups, makes Ford Focus, Mondeo, Fiesta and other models in a three-way JV with Ford and Mazda Motor that also makes the Mazda 3 and some Volvo models.
Meanwhile, Dongfeng Motor Group, China’s third-largest automaker, said its July vehicle sales rose 34% to 21,088 units.
Its total January-July sales rose 53% to 169,468 units.
