New vehicle sales in mainland China rose 11.2% year on year to 1,754,084 units in June, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
The market has continued to grow strongly this year despite central government efforts to slow economic growth to a more sustainable long term trend growth, which so far has included stricter regulations imposed in the country’s banking sector.

Cumulative sales for the first half of the year were up 12.3% to 10,782,270 units, with passenger car sales up 13.8% to 8,665,128 units and commercial vehicle sales up 6.7% to 2,117,142 units.
