New vehicle sales in mainland China increased by over 20% year-on-year to 1,932,600 units in October, according to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In the first 10 months of 2013, the vehicle market expanded by 13.5% to a new record of 17,815,800 units.

Passenger vehicle sales, including cars, MPVs and SUVs, increased by 23.6% to 1,605,700 units in October and by 15% to 14,455,100 units year-to-date. Sales of Chinese branded passenger cars increased by 9.6% to 2,610,800 units in this period, with foreign brands gaining market share.
Commercial vehicle sales increased by 6.5% to 326,900 units in October and 7.4% to 3,360,700 units year-to-date.
