Hyundai Motor said sales of its redesigned Verna [Accent] subcompact in China jumped to a record high in November thanks to its high quality and design tailored to customers there.
A total of 10,313 Verna units were sold in the world’s biggest car market last month, the car’s highest monthly sales figure, Hyundai told the Korea Herald. The figure followed shipments of 9,776 vehicles in September and 7,738 units in October.

Sales of the Verna have been rising since its launch in August when 5,992 units were sold, according to Hyundai.
Given growing demand for subcompact cars in China, the Verna is expected to shore up Hyundai’s market share in the world’s most populous country, market watchers said.
Hyundai Motor’s November sales in China stood at 67,889 units.
Cumulative sales in the January-November period reached 637,686 units, according to the automaker.
