Under the plan, 2010 is named as the ‘promotion year’ for the provincial auto manufacturing sector, and the province is to focus mainly on six auto projects, with an aggregate investment of CNY17.7bn (US$2.6bn), Asia Pulse reported.
The province aims to step up the construction projects of its six auto industrial parks in Sichuan’s Chengdu, Ziyang, Mianyang, Nanchong and Neijiang cities.
Meanwhile, Sichuan is working on strengthening new energy vehicle R&D and practical applications, as well as technologies for batteries and battery charging systems, engines, and electronic control systems, the report added.
