Nissan sold 86,000 cars in China last month, an increase of 1% over the same month last year, but sales for the first eight months of the year are down 6.3% at 768,500.

August marked the second successive monthly gain for Nissan and its joint venture partner Dongfeng; sales in July were up 1.8%, Overall sales that month were up 10.5% to 1.24m. Figures for August are not yet available.
