Planned higher news car sales means customers will expect service levels “more in line” with leading German luxury carmakers and strengthening distribution would get spare parts to outlets faster, Gobber said.

Maserati has a third party managed distribution centre in Shanghai but expanded distribution could involve setting up a company owned centre that would also serve other Asian markets such as Japan and South Korea, he said.

The plans was still in the “study phase.” A similar setup operates in the US, he added.
