The new company, which will manufacture filter systems and filters for automotive OEMs and the aftermarket, is expected to break ground in January 2009 while the production facility will be ready by January 2010.
It also will become Mann+Hummel’s China headquarters and the base of its Asian research and development centre.
Mann+Hummel plans to put additional investment into the company over the coming years, increasing the land area by approximately 13,000 square feet. The new facilities also will include a dedicated aftermarket warehouse to service the growing needs of both the auto companies and the independents.
“China has become the second largest car-producing nation in the world. As a leader in the automotive and industrial filtration industry, we are committed to serving the local market with our industry-leading technology and products,” said Mann+Hummel China managing director Patrick Cudmore.
“We choose Jiading because it has a strong focus on the automotive parts industry and this new company will be our base for future research and development, as well as for future business development.”
