Kumho Tyre plans to shift and combine both its Nanjing plants in China to an economic development zone in Pukou following a government regulation in 2011 which requires all the factories in the city to be moved to the outskirts.

Citing Korea JoongAng Daily, Tire Review said the company presently has two factories in Nanjing. One manufactures passenger car tyres and the other is a bus radial tyre plant. The two will be combined into a single plant at the new location.

Kumho started construction on 22 January and operations should start in 2016.
