An Inteva joint venture has opened a new automotive door systems technical centre in Shanghai, China.
The 50,000 square-foot facility includes a new sound chamber, extensive testing capabilities, an expanded engineering centre, and an advanced development lab.

Shanghai Inteva Automotive Door Systems Co., Ltd. (Inteva SDADS) is a joint venture partnership between Inteva Products and Shanghai SIIC Transportation Electronic Company, Ltd. Inteva SDADS has manufacturing operations and engineering capabilities in Shanghai producing latches, actuators, control modules and door modules for customers such as Volkswagen, SAIC and General Motors. Inteva SDADS has approximately 400 employees.

Closure Systems is one of Inteva’s four global product lines. In addition to the Shanghai Technical Enterosure Systems has technical centres in: Cordeiropolis, Brazil; Zhenjiang, China; Birmingham, England; Saint Die and Sully-Sur-Loire, France; Gifhorn and Wuppertal, Germany; Bangalore, India; Yokohama, Japan, and Troy, Michigan.

Inteva’s Closure Systems product line encompasses Latch Systems and Door Systems. Inteva’s Latch Systems portfolio includes door latches, compartment latches, associated strikers, and electronic actuators that offer competitive functionality, robustness and performance with minimized weight, package size and cost. In Door Systems, Inteva designs, engineers and manufactures products that range from window regulators to the latest fully integrated composite door modules.
Inteva has five manufacturing operations and three technical centers in China employing approximately 1,500 people. Roof Systems are produced at two facilities in Shanghai including Inteva’s joint venture SAMAP. Final assembly and testing of Roof Systems is done in Changchun. In Zhenjiang, Inteva produces latches and actuators, window regulators and electric motors. Inteva SDADS, an Inteva joint venture in Shanghai, manufactures door latches and door modules. Door modules are produced in Changchun. Inteva has engineering and technical centres in Shanghai and Zhenjiang.
