Hyundai Motors has announced the start of production at its Beijing plant once again after a fire had halted operations completely 17 days ago. The plant, on starting operations, produced 1,200 cars on 26 May.
The company had expected the plant’s operations, which produces 350,000 cars annually and handles half of Hyundai’s production in China, to start after at least a month. However, only 17 days after the fire, the company started normal production at the plant, with the affected operations being compensated by operations at a new plant set to be completed next month.

The vehicle frames were manufactured at the affected plant and taken for painting at the new facility 20 kilometres away. The painted frames were then delivered back to the old plant for assembling.
