Hyundai has launched the ninth generation Sonata sedan in China priced from CNY174,800 (US$28,150) to CNY249,800.
The locally assembled model is offered with three I4 petrol engines – a 189hp 2.4-litre, a 180hp 1.6-litre turbo and a 161hp 2.0-litre. The 1.6 turbo has a seven-speed dual clutch automated transmission, the other two have a six-speed automatic, CarNewsChina.com reported.

The ninth generation model will be called Sonata 9 in China because the company will continue making the current Sonata 8 for another year.
