Honda Motor and Nissan Motor plastic supplier Nihon Plast has resumed production of steering wheels and other parts in China after giving workers at a south China plant higher wages and more benefits.
Workers at the Zhongshan factory went on strike last Thursday but production resumed late on Friday as negotiations continued, and operations returned to normal on Saturday, Nihon Plast spokesman Mutsuo Suzuki told news agency Reuters.

“The strike effectively ended in two days,” Suzuki said, adding that workers were promised slightly more than the roughly 20% regular wage increase initially offered, plus added allowances such as for housing and transport.
Nihon Plast said the dispute ended with no impact on customers.
The strike was the fourth to hit a Honda supplier in Japan. Another affected a Toyota supplier.
