Wei Jianjun, chairman of Great Wall Motors, and Majdi Abulaban, president of the Asia-Pacific unit of Delphi Group, have signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
Under the agreement, both parties will collaborate on electrical and electronic, safety, powertrain and thermal systems.

The two companies also signed a letter of intent for both sides to jointly research and develop active safety and navigation products for future Great Wall models.
Wei Jianjun noted that Delphi’s electronic high pressure common rail diesel injection system allowed the 4D20 engine used in exported pickup trucks and SUVs to meet the Euro V emission standard, significantly reducing Great Wall’s own R&D costs.
