De Nysschen said the luxury car market will be a major growth segment in China in the future. He expects the country to overtake the US as the world’s largest market for luxury automobiles before 2020.
The plan is to substantially increase Cadillac’s exposure to this growth. Around 95% of the models sold in China will be locally made by 2018.
