German luxury carmakers Audi and BMW have both recorded significant increases in sales in China in January.
BMW said it sold 11,919 cars in the country during the month, up by over 122% over the same month a year ago, and added it was aiming for double digit percentage growth in 2010.

Sales and marketing chief Ian Robertson, said: “We will continue on our growth track in the Chinese market in 2010. Although we already saw a very strong performance there last year, we are once again aiming for growth in the double-digit percentage range in this country.”
Audi, meanwhile, reported its car sales in China more than doubled year on year in January to 16,798 units.
