Ford China sales continued to climb in April, selling 75,331 wholesale vehicles, an increase of 37% compared to April 2012, bringing year to date sales to 261,927 wholesales, up 49% on last year.

In its second full sales month, demand remained strong for the all-new Ford Kuga, selling nearly 10,000 wholesale units for the second month in a row.

The Ford Focus continued to be in high demand by Chinese customers, selling 30,673 wholesales in April, up 41% compared to April 2012. Strong April performance for Focus brought year to date sales to 126,853 wholesales, up an incredible 114% compared to last year.

Ford’s passenger car joint venture Changan Ford Automobile (CAF) sold 52,713 wholesales in April, up 55% from April 2012. Year to date figures increased even more sharply with 180,719 wholesales sold, up 79% compared to last year.

Ford’s commercial vehicle investment in China Jiangling Motors (JMC), also delivered strong sales, with April sales holding steady at 20,731 wholesales sold compared to 20,773 wholesales sold in April 2012. JMC’s year to date sales grew 5%, with 77,151 wholesales sold compared to 73,465 wholesales last year.
