Ford may sell some of its unwanted North American parts operations to Chinese supplier, Wanxiang Group, according to Automotive News.

Ford owns 15 plants that were taken back from Visteon in October 2005, as part of a bailout of Visteon. They are grouped under a separate company called Automotive Components Holdings LLC. Executives from this company reportedly visited the Wanxiang headquarters recently.


Wanxiang already owns stakes in six US plants and has told Automotive News in the past that it is talking to Delphi about purchasing some of its component manufacturing assets.
