Ford Motor China says it sold 56,829 vehicles in November, a 35% increase compared to November 2009.

The news follows the opening of 40 new Ford dealerships in China last week, while for the first 11 months of the year, the US manufacturer sold 525,100 units in the country, an increase of 39% compared to the same period a year ago.
 
Changan Ford Mazda Automobile (CFMA) – Ford’s passenger vehicle joint-venture in China – posted sales of 39,819 units last month, an increase of 28% compared to November 2009. So far this year, CFMA has sold 361,012 vehicles, a rise of 31% from January – November last year.
 
Ford’s commercial vehicle investment in China, Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) sold 17,010 units last month, boosting its January to November sales by 59% compared to the same period in 2009.
 
Specifically, the Focus sold 17,139 units last month, up 34%, while Fiesta sales rose 60% from the same 11-month period in 2009. Ford’s Transit achieved its record monthly sales of 5,285 units in November, increasing 58% from November 2009.
 
Changan Ford will add 66 new dealerships in China by the end of the year, bringing its total number of outlets in the country to 340.
