Ford Motor China has released further details of its 2009 performance which saw record sales up 44% to 441,000.

As announced earlier in China, passenger car joint venture Changan Ford Mazda Automobile which posted record sales of almost 316,000 units – up 55% year on year. Highlights were strong Ford Focus sales of 134,336 units and the introduction of the redesigned Fiesta (47,358 sales in total for 2009) as well as new S-Max variants and an upgraded 2010 Mondeo.
The commercial vehicle venture, Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) booked sales of nearly 115,000 units, with Ford Transit volume 33,585.
Ford plans to introduce a three year/100,000km warranty in China and will also add EcoBoost engines and Powershift transmissions which increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
