Ford, clustered in the Chinese sales tables with Hyundai, Toyota, Honda and Nissan behind Volkswagen and General Motors has seen sales growth driven by the locally made Focus.
For the first 10 months of the year, Focus sales in China reached 320,000 units as new car sales overall grew 13.5% year on year. Full year sales are seen passing 20m for the first time.

Ford sales in contrast, climbed a steep 52% to 740,000 vehicles.
Also in contrast, the two market leaders, operating in China for many years before relative latecomer Ford, sell over 2m units a year each though, in GM’s case, familiar western brands like Buick are overshadowed by vast numbers of domestic brand models.
But Ford can brag that, since June, the Focus was the best selling car in China.
