China’s automotive exports are continuing to boom, according to figures released today (11 February).


Data from the country’s customs authorities, cited by news agency Xinhau, said that China’s automobile exports leapt 78.95% in 2007 to 612,700 units.


 In value terms, exports increased even more impressively, up 130% on 2006 to $US7.312bn.


 When broken down further, the results showed that car exports more than doubled to 188,600 units in 2007. Bus shipments jumped 210% to 85,100 units, whilst exports of cross-country vehicles increased 220% in 2007 to 25,700 units.


 China’s leading auto exporters were Chery Automobile, Geely Automobile Holdings and Brilliance China Automotive Holding, the report said.
