Dongfeng Motors aims to export 100,000 vehicles in 2013. The company’s exports rose 32.26% year on year to 84,800 vehicles in 2012, of which most were commercial vehicles.

Dongfeng intends to make its domestic businesses more international and simultaneously increase the localisation rate of its overseas businesses, reportedauto.qq.com, citing the company’s deputy general manager Zhou Qiang. Dongfeng will aim to enhance its brand image, improve its sales channels and customer service operations and increase the pace at which it launches new models.

It plans to set up two sales companies to run its operations in overseas markets like South America, Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Dongfeng will also establish 32 new passenger car dealerships, 74 commercial vehicle dealerships, four customer service centres, three training centres and two equipment centres in foreign markets.
