Chery has said it would start assembling vehicles in Vietnam in an attempt to enter the low priced vehicle markets abroad.

According to China Daily Chery and its local partners will build an assembly plant in northern Vietnam.

Chery also has plans to invest around half a billion dollars over five years for a new engine manufacturing and assembly plant in Turkey, Turkish Weekly reported.

In April, Chery’s exports increased 39% year on year to 17,412 vehicles. The company forecast shipments of 20,000 vehicles in May.
