Chery Automobile said on Friday it aims to sell 800,000 vehicles this year, up 17.3% year on year.

This slows on 36.3% growth in 2010, thanks in part to Beijing’s policy incentives, but is still ahead of a consensus forecast of 10-15% growth for the overall market, Reuters noted.

Chery has increased exports to developing markets over the years, with its vehicles now available in more than 80 countries and regions in east Europe, South America, southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Its exports surged 93.2% to 92,000 units last year but did not give its export target for 2011, the news agency added.
