China’s car maker BYD Automobile has said it will introduce newly developed pure electric vehicles and dual-mode electric vehicles into Israel.

The vehicles are the E6 pure electric vehicle and F6DM dual-mode electric vehicle, according to Asia Pulse.
Although the capacity of the Israeli market is small, the per capita car ownership rate is high. The new energy concept enjoys popular support in Israel as the government has implemented a preferential tax policy on the trade of new energy vehicles, so it is very suitable to tap Israeli market with electric vehicles, the company said.
BYD has sought cooperation partners in Israel since 2007, and plans to break into the Israeli market by the end of 2009, before further entering other European markets.
The company regards the concepts of “green” and “high tech” as the competitiveness of its China-made cars to tap overseas markets, the report added.
Renault said in January it would supply electric cars to Israel from 2011.
