Automotive interior surface material supplier, Benecke-Kaliko, says it will lay the foundation stone for the company’s second plant in China before the end of this autumn.
The investment of almost EUR40m (US$50.6m) for the first phase of the expansion, is the largest investment in the company’s history.
“This shows the major importance of the Chinese market, but also the good relations between Benecke-Kaliko and our partners in trade and industry,” said Benecke-Kaliko chairman, Dirk Leiss.
Production is scheduled to start in late 2015, with up to 250 employees manufacturing Acella Eco series surface materials on 24,000 square metres of shop floor space.
The company says its has already received first orders for the material, destined for the Chinese automotive market.
