Vehicle sales in China will exceed 16m units this year according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. It has raised its estimate from a previous forecast of 15m.

The association said China’s passenger car sales in July rose 13.6% year on year to 946,200 units, the slowest monthly gain since March 2009.
