Suzuki unveiled its new Boosterjet 1.4 litre, direct injection turbocharged petrol engine at the Shanghai motor show.

The company said this would improve fuel efficiency by incorporating direct fuel injection  while boosting output and torque with a turbocharger.

The engine has an optimised layout to meet rigorous size and weight requirements in vehicle development.
