Production has started at the Shanghai GM Norsom Motors’ third-phase vehicle and engine plant in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning province.

The new factory, which has an annual output of 300,000 cars and 450,000 engines, includes five new workshops – body, paint, assembly, powertrain mount and stamping. Total investment in the Phase III project amounts to CNY7bn (US$1.14 bn).
