Starting next year, Opel will begin selling vehicles in Chile, making it the first country in Latin America to launch the brand.
The company will have direct business control over a dedicated Opel team that will be supported by GM Chile.
Michael Klaus, Executive Director Opel International Operations, said: “German automotive engineering has a high appeal in South America and we are glad to start now with Chile where Opel with its new model range will for sure make a differentiating statement.”
Opel says it is currently preparing to enter more growth markets. The company previously announced it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Shlomo Group to export vehicles in Israel.
