Chassis Brakes International will start production of brake calipers and rotors at a new plant in Queretaro, Mexico this year.
Manufacture will be for two unnamed automakers with assembly operations in Mexico and the US, with volume production at the new facility beginning in April.

The 100,000-square-foot plant is expected to have more than 200 employees when production capacity reaches 8,500 units per day in 2020.
“We are establishing production in North America to meet the needs of our automotive customers in the NAFTA region,” said Chassis Brakes International president for the Americas region, Dennis Berry.
“Our goal is to not only support existing business, but also to grow organically across customer lines and industry vehicle segments.”
The Queretaro plant is Chassis Brakes International’s first North American manufacturing facility. Berry noted the company plans to double the size of the plant during the next five to six years and is looking at additional production sites to support sales growth in the NAFTA region.
