Around 250 workers at the company’s plant in Oshawa staged a wildcat strike at the end of last week. They picketed the plant’s entrance and delayed delivery trucks over the weekend.
AGS is a systems supplier with capability in stamping, plating, painting, plastics, sequencing and assembly, and supplies OEMs and Tier Ones. The Oshawa plant produces bumpers for GM operations in Canada and the US.
GM has reportedly threatened to pull key dies from the operation if the conflict is not resolved quickly, but it has said it has enough stock for further action not be an immediate threat.
AGS has seven facilities in Canada and the US employing 1,200 people.
