The US-built 9-7X Linear – based on a GM North American SUV model line – features standard all-wheel drive, leather heated front seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, OnStar, 6-CD Bose audio system, xenon headlamps, adjustable pedals, side-curtain airbags, integrated roof rails, and a choice between a moonroof or a rear-DVD entertainment system in Canadian specification.
The base engine is an in-line petrol six that delivers 275 hp and 275 lb.-ft. of torque. The 9-7X Arc has a 5.3 litre V8 with 300-hp and 325 lb.-ft of torque.
“The 9-7X joins the Saab lineup at the right time because the demand for premium midsize SUV’s is strong,” said Lars Hygrell, marketing manager for in Canada.
“About 40% of current owners already have an SUV of another make in their garage. With the 9-7X, Saab will be able to take advantage of the continued growth in this segment.”
